With a proud heritage rooted in Muskoka's original wilderness
hotels, Taboo acknowledges that the heart of the Muskoka experience
lies in the enduring serenity and vitality of nature found amidst
its vast, 1,000-acre private parkland. The parkland is an easily
accessible area with several kilometres of nature trails, ideal
for hiking, bird watching and peaceful immersion in the great
outdoors.
Our staff are
employed year-round to maintain the trail
system and serve as guides for our guests to appreciate the beauty that
is found within the region.
The Parklands contain beaver ponds, forests of old pine and
ancient oaks, and spectacular open rock ridges. Wildlife is
abundant as this is where the northern and southern ranges of
many Ontario species overlap. Deer, moose, fox, owls, chipmunks,
turtles and songbirds also call Taboo home. Wildflowers thrive
in this area of the Canadian Shield rockland. |
